Role Summary:

 

At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to “Make it easy for men to dress well”. The primary purpose of the Junior Online Merchandiser is to ensure that the online merchandising is specific to a given market, identifying opportunities, and working closely with the marketing department to prioritise activities. The Junior Online Merchandiser will analyse the customer journey, proposing improvements for an optimised experience and own the merchandising of a given site/sites using testing and visual merchandising techniques. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

*       Complete Weekly trade reporting

*       Planning and briefing of creative assets for homepage, category tiles and banners to ensure consistency across all customer channels

*       Continuously merchandise the website to create an exciting customer experience that supports business strategies whilst maintaining brand aesthetic. Utilise testing capabilities to ensure the best commercial outcome

*       Responsible for the visual merchandising of products by working closely with the buying/merchandising & design teams to understand key merchandising strategies, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement

*       Regularly review competitive landscape for features and trends as they relate to best practices for online merchandisers.

*       Analysing product and category performance, putting forward recommendations for merchandising improvements

*       Maximize web store performance (i.e., conversion rate, average order value, units per transaction), focusing on the following activities: Online customer experience, Online merchandising, Site searchandising, Product content, features and benefits and cross/upsell opportunities

*       Involvement in testing and site development with the User Experience team to ensure Charles Tyrwhitt online is at the forefront of the customer experience and merchandising excellence

*       Ensure quality of assigned site/categories is maintained to the set standards at all times

*       Understanding how customers are converting, deciphering whether the site is merchandised to full effectiveness

*       Display a hands-on mentality towards e-commerce colleagues

*       Build strong relationships with internal teams including product, merchandising, creative and marketing teams

*       Regular liaison with Buying & Merchandising to ensure that company trade objectives are implemented

*       Work in conjunction with fulfilment team, ensure delivery and returns services are being accurately conveyed to the customer

 

Person Specification:

 

Experience Required

*       Background/experience working in a menswear brand or managing the menswear category within a multi category retailer is preferable

*       Demonstrable experience within e-commerce/online merchandising

Technical Skills

*       Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills with Advanced knowledge of MS Excel to support and guide decisions for improvements to website and merchandising

*       Working knowledge of HTML is desired

*       Demandware and Adobe Analytics experience desired but not required
