Role Summary:

 

At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to “Make it easy for men to dress well”. The primary purpose of the Junior Ecommerce Developer role is to work with the wider ecommerce team with regards to HTML, CSS and JS code development of the online shop platform. Sitting within the Digital Experience team, the Junior Ecommerce Developer will be involved in both day-to-day updates as well as longer-term project deliverables as required. Please note, this role does not sit within the wider IT function and is aligned with the Ecommerce team. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Junior Ecommerce Developer will work closely with our UX and CRO specialists as well as our Content, Promotion and Merchandising teams and will be the go-to person in the team for code development of, but not limited to,  a/b test experiment builds, custom homepage layouts, merchandising components size guide table updates, promotional banners and tag implementations. A large portion of this role is the build of a/b tests. 

 

*       Up-to-date knowledge of front-end web building technologies (specifically HTML/CSS/JS/JQuery)

*       Understanding of how to code efficiently to maximise page speed

*       Knowledge of SEO best practices in relation to your code

*       Collaboration with CRO and data specialists

*       Collaboration with UX and visual designers 

*       Collaboration with Content, Promotion and Merchandising teams 

 
 

Person Specification:

 
Technical Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS & JQuery is a must-have 

 

  • Experience with an a/b testing platform that accept custom code (such as Adobe Target) would be a big benefit
  • Experience of using the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform would be a benefit but is not essential
  • Ability to create web-ready graphics using Photoshop would be a benefit
