The Role

This time, we’re on the lookout for a Deputy General Manager who will be working with Scott from our Jermyn Street team.

 

What you will be doing

At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to “Make it easy for men to dress well”. We have two new Deputy General Manager roles in our iconic Jermyn Street. The role of a Deputy General Manger is fully cross-functional and will hold responsibility for the efficient running of the shop floor and all back of house operations in partnership with the assistant managers for those areas. The Deputy General Manager will manage the store teams to exceed store KPIs and improve the commercial performance by providing strong leadership; consistently ensuring excellent customer experience and implementing best practice whilst maintaining a control over operations, costs and payroll.

 

What we are looking for

This roles Key Responsibilities:

*       Lead, coach and develop store team to exceed KPIs, sales targets and results empowering the Jermyn Street management team to deliver

*       Control, manage and minimise all controllable costs efficiently and within planned budgets

*       Support the General Manager with driving and delivering commercial opportunities which will allow the store to achieve and exceed company objectives.

*       Identify and maximise sales opportunities as a centre of excellence (e.g. promotions, outfit building, up & cross selling, corporate sales/events) to ensure sales and margins targets are achieved and exceeded

*       Use data and insight from the marketplace to pro-actively plan, influence and then implement interventions accordingly. Feedback on competitor activity create corporate activity to generate new business and customer opportunities

*       Proactively develop future talent for the wider business, creating and delivering a hub of talent across the business

*       Implement best practice retail methods and expenditure control within Jermyn Street identifying opportunities to share best practice across the rest of the business.

*       Create and deliver a culture of exceptional customer service by ensuring all team members are fully conversant with Charles Tyrwhitt customer service, FEEFO and current store promotions and ranges.

*       Use all store, business and staff training tools, including commercial reports, VM directives and tools on Tyrwhitt Academy to support the delivery and consistency in visual and store standards

Experience Required:

*       Previous retail management experience in a high profile flagship store preferred

*       Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate others in order to establish a high performing team

*       A proven track record of driving sales in a commercially driven environment

*       Management of a large retail team

*       High level of awareness of scheduling to maximise sales and reduce costs. Good awareness of training patterns and adapting to retail performance
